Songfacts®:

  • "Won't Be Going Home" is the eighth track on The Mohrs' debut album, Kings of Nowhere. The song started with The Mohrs' guitarist Marc Girardin's opening lick and quirky playing. The goal for this tune was to capture the sound of the new wave band, The Cars.
  • In our interview with The Mohrs' frontwoman, Jackie Mohr, she revealed how she was uncomfortable with the harsh and blunt lyrics. Mohr explained the changes she made in order to be able to sing the song: "I added the words 'she said, he said' in the choruses, and for some reason that made it better for me because I wasn't necessarily singing from my perspective. It was more like an observation of somebody at a club. That put my mind at ease because I just couldn't sing that."
