Anne Nolan (From Anne's Song by Anne Nolan with Richard Barber): "When I first heard 'I'm In The Mood For Dancing' written by Ben Findon and Mike Myers, I didn't like it, but then I was always hopeless at spotting a potential hit. None of my sisters liked it either. What did we know?"
The Nolans were an Irish group made up of five sisters (four after Denise Nolan left in 1978.) They achieved seven Top 20 hits in the UK but their biggest success was in Japan, where they outsold The Beatles. "I'm In The Mood For Dancing" spent two weeks at #1 there and is the third best-selling 20th century song in Japan by a British act.
Co-writer Ben Findon also worked with the Dooleys and Billy Ocean; he also wrote "Atmosphere" for Russ Abbott.
