Songfacts®:

  • With more of a rock sound than earlier Psychedelic Furs singles, this song has an intense beat and some interesting lyrics, as the narrator is drawn into an affair which is a little darker than he had expected. >>>

  • This was released as a single from Midnight To Midnight, the first album Psychedelic Furs released after their song "Pretty In Pink" was featured in the movie of the same title. They came under pressure from their record company to complete the album and make it commercially viable, which didn't go over well with the band, especially lead singer Richard Butler. The group almost broke up after the album, but held it together until 1991, when they started a nine-year hiatus.
