• John McCrea sings "I Wanna Be Your Dog" in character as Artie in the 2021 movie Cruella. This version also appears on the soundtrack; in 2022, the Russian figure skater Alexandra Trusova skated to it in her free skate at the Beijing Olympics, winning the silver medal.
• When "I Wanna Be Your Dog" was released, the song's lyrics about a man who wants to be dominated by a woman were seen as too sexually explicit for some listeners, and the song's raw and aggressive sound was deemed too abrasive for the masses. The song has since been recognized as a classic of proto-punk music. Iggy Pop detailed to Mojo magazine in 2023 the changing crowd reactions down the decades to the Stooges' classic track. "I used to do 'I Wanna Be Your Dog,' and people just stared in horror," he recalled. "And then I would do 'I Wanna Be Your Dog,' and people would just drink their beer and watch, kind of musing. And it got to the point where I did it and people were grooving. When I go out and do it now go out, they know all the words in the verses. So, that's a beautiful thing."
