The Vamps teamed up with the US singer Demi Lovato for a new single version, which was played for the first time on Capital FM on May 18, 2014. Asked by MTV UK how the collaboration came about, Connor replied: "We were just working with the same producers as her and she came in and did her parts the week after we recorded which was very lovely of her."
Bradley added: "We always knew we wanted a feature on that song and Demi nailed it."
Asked by Digital Spy what a 'vamp' is, Tristan replied: "A vamp is putting things together, putting ideas together, it's like an expression. That's how we came together, like throwing weird things together on YouTube and stuff."
After arriving at #10 on the Billboard 200, the Somebody to You EP earned the dubious distinction of the biggest ever second-week drop on the chart for a top 10-debuting album, when it plummeted 182 places to #192.
The lyrics to "Heartbreak Hotel" were written by a steel guitar player who was once a dishwasher repairman. He was inspired by a newspaper story about a man who killed himself and left behind a note saying only, "I walk a lonely street."
