Songfacts®:

  • Tom Greenan wrote this song after receiving the sad news of a friend's mum's passing. As he watched his pal trying to take in the tragic loss, it triggered memories for the singer of the death of his cousin and best friend, Alan. Grennan was just a teenager at the time, and the bereavement broke him and many others.

As Grennan wrote the song, it unraveled quickly. "It was cathartic on many levels, thoughts of loss and heartbreak, dealing with the grief of death, or the breakdown of a relationship or friendship," he said. "These are all things that seem to have dominated my life in recent years, but sadly never get any easier to navigate."
  • Grennan wrote the song after the release of his sophomore album Evering Road. It's included on the record's special edition.
  • Grennan penned the song with:

Former Stereo Kicks member Tom Mann. Since the breakup of the boy band, Mann has worked as a songwriter and producer. His other credits include Lewis Capaldi "One," Becky Hill's "Last Time" and Regard's "You."

English producer Chris Loco, who has collaborated with Little Mix on several of their tracks, including "Strip," "Love A Girl Right," and "Holiday."

The London-based songwriting and record production team TMS, who comprise Tom Barnes, Ben Kohn and Peter Kelleher. They also worked with Grennan on his duet with Ella Henderson, "Let's Go Home Together."

    TMS also produced this song.
  • The musicians on the track are:

    Guitar: Vern Asbury
    Bass: Dan D'Lion
Drums: Dan D'Lion and Tom Barnes
    Piano: Ollie Green
    Synthesizer: Ben Kohn
    Keyboards: Pete Kelleher
