Songfacts®:

  • Tom Odell wrote this song with his pal, ex Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, who he first bonded with thanks to their mutual love of Elton John. Odell told The Sun:

"We ended up going for a beer and we just talked about Elton records for an hour. He is one of my best friends. We've known each other for almost six years now and we live really close to each other.

Last year we started writing a few songs and I am so pleased we have two songs on the album - Constellations and Here I Am."
  • The haunting video stars Kevin Spacey who we see climbing an apparently infinite flight of stairs. The American actor's best known link with pop music is probably playing Bobby Darin in the movie about the singer, Beyond The Sea.
