  • Warren Hue was just 17 he released "Candy Choppa," a wild and wacky song where he shows off his lyrical dexterity in the style of his rap heroes: Eminem, Tyler The Creator, and Kanye West. The song was a surprise hit on Spotify, garnering over 2 million streams and earning Hue a place with the 88rising Asian music collective.

    Hue says his best songs come from improvisation, and are often written in under an hour. That explains the disjointed but energetic vibe of this one.
  • Hue was using the name warrenisyellow at the time. Raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, it was a play on his heritage. His real name is Warren Hui - "hue" is a value of color.
