Songfacts®:

  • White Denim are an alternative rock trio from Austin, Texas. This song is the first single from their second European album, Fits.
  • The band spends much of their time in isolation recording in their studio, which is located in a trailer in the middle of nowhere. They have found that the sheer weirdness of their success has made them even more insular- a preoccupation reflected in singer/guitarist James Petralli's lyrics for Fits. He told Mojo magazine September 2009 that this song was, "simply saying, 'Hey we're nervous about this process." He added: "I try to represent the others through what I write. I basically imagine that we have a collective mind. The first half of that record is essentially dealing with that theme."
