Songfacts®:

  • This is a love song about a guy attracted by a girl's uninhibited pursuit of freedom. Frontman Sameer Gadhia explained to Rolling Stone: "We have this character named Titus, who's the character in 'Titus Was Born.' He was born between borders, in the sea, and he's just kind of going around and figuring out where he belongs. And he's fallen in love with someone who embodies the idea of freedom, this woman who is completely uninhibited. That song is about his inability to relate his feelings, and that continuous search to find that person."
