Yuck is an English rock band that that was founded by vocalists/guitarists Max Bloom and Daniel Blumberg, both formerly of the band Cajun Dance Party. They became Yuck in 2009 after being joined by bassist/vocalist Mariko Doi and drummer Jonny Rogoff. When Daniel Blumberg left the group in 2013, he was replaced by guitarist Ed Hayes.
Max Bloom explained that the song is about how we deal with relationships. He said: "We're all just blasting through space on a huge rock, so what's the point in maintaining a relationship? Is it all just doomed to failure, or is it the one thing that we should be holding on to the most in this world? Who knows!"
"Cruise" climbed from 6-5 on the Hot 100 in its 34th week. In doing so it set a record for the slowest ascent to the Top 5 in the chart's history, which was beaten by Imagine Dragon's "Radioactive" 42-week clamber to #4 three weeks later.
Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" is a mashup of "Werewolves Of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama." The album it came from was released in October, 2007, but they held off until summer, 2008 for a more seasonable release.
