Zach John King is a Georgia-born country singer-songwriter whose songwriting leans heavily into personal, straightforward lyrics that track life's ups and downs with plenty of grit and self-deprecation.
Born and raised in Fayetteville, Georgia, King got his first taste of country music in his grandmother's kitchen, where her radio was a constant backdrop. He later moved to Athens, Georgia, to attend college before making the jump to Nashville in 2021 to pursue a country career full time.
Before turning to country music, King spent four years during college fronting an indie-rock band called Cloudland. He also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. It was the live-music shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic that finally pushed him to make the move to Nashville he had been delaying.
King's early days in Music City were far from glamorous. He waited tables at a restaurant on Broadway while living in an apartment complex then called the Views at Hillwood II, spending his off-hours writing, releasing independent tracks, and trying to get a foothold in the business.
He released his first solo track, "Just Missed You" in 2023, blending his rock roots with country songwriting instincts. A run of independent singles followed before "Wannabe Country" became his breakout track in 2024, earning key spots on Spotify playlists like New Boots and Fresh Country.

That momentum led to a record deal with Sony Music Nashville in 2024. King released the Wannabe Cowboy EP that same year.
On February 6, 2026, King released "Get to Drinkin'," which became his first official country radio single and his debut entry on the Billboard charts.

That song's success landed King a spot as an opening act on Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem Tour. He built on that exposure throughout 2026, landing additional support slots on Luke Bryan's Word on the Street Tour and Riley Green's Cowboy As It Gets Tour.
King released his debut full-length album, I'm What You Get, on August 28, 2026. The record draws heavily on his diverse background, weaving indie, pop, and rock textures into his core country sound.
