  • I want to have the same last dream again
The one where I wake up and I'm alive
Just as the four walls closed me within
My eyes are opened up with pure sunlight

I'm the first to know, my dearest friends
Even if your hope has burned with time
Anything that's dead shall be regrown
And your vicious pain, your warning sign
    You will be fine

Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin

Any type of love it will be shown
Like every single tree reach for the sky
If you're gonna fall, I'll let you know
That I will pick you up like you for I
    I felt this thing I can't replace

That everyone was working for this goal
Where all the children left without a trace
Only to come back as pure as gold
    To recite this song

Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin
    Tonight
Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin
    Tonight
Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin

I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me
I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me
I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me
I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me
I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me
I cannot live I can't breathe unless you do this with me

Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin
Hey yo, here I am, and here we go, life's waiting to begin
Life's waiting to begin Writer/s: Thomas Delonge

  • Majdi Houm from Tripoli- LibyaTom DeLonge is a genius musican, with Blink 182, and Angels and airwaves, he has his own fingerprints in music, and this song is among the best songs for me, it is a very deep meaning song too.
  • Shannon from Jackson, TnI first heard this song about two years ago and for a while I didn't know who the song artist was but I heard it on a YouTube video about USAF BMT. It has a lot of meaning to it in my opinion. When I listen to it I get the feeling that I know what I want to do with my life, it's an adventure, and it takes team work to accomplish. It's a very inspiring song!!

I also agree with you Josh, God is interconnected in it... as of course, God is everywhere. :)
  • Haylie from Orlando, Fl"heyo, here I am, here we go, life's waiting to begin" is an amazing part of the song. Also "I cannot live, I cannot breathe unless you do this with me" is amazing too. This song is so inspirational and has changed my life. AVA is amazing.
  • Myra from Chicago, IlWhen i first heard this song blasting through speakers at my local best buy, i know i wanted it on my iPod! Hats off to Angels and Airwaves! They ROCK!
  • Erik from Davis, CaI first heard this song when I was in a relationship that I should have realized was the worst thing in the world for me. At this point, we were talking about moving in together once she got out of school and everything in the relationship was (at this point) going pretty well. I always heard this song in the back of my mind during that time. Eventually, her mind changed and she wanted me to move closer to her (it was a long-term relationship) out of her own convenience. As time went on, things went sour and we broke up, me eventually moving back home. We got back together for a short time, but then broke up for good. After seven months of no communication and her being with a rebound and breaking up with him, she tried contacting me again and apologized for all the things she did. I chose not to respond, having moved on with my life in a far-better direction. I came across this song again as I was poking around on this page, and out of curiosity, read the lyrics... This song summed up that time in my life perfectly... I'm not really a fan of this band, but this song is nothing short of a masterpiece. I thought this was a new U2 until the lyrics started. Well done!
  • A from Totowa, NjThis could also be interpreted as being from the pov of a soldier in active duty...look closely at the lyrics.
  • Kiran from Shelton, Ctamazing work by tom. he writes devent songs for AvA better tehn his other work
  • Kat from Creston, CanadaThis song is about how the world is slowly being destroyed and "i cannot live, i can't breath unless you do this with me" means that the air is being polluted.. and the world will come to an end thanks to us polluting it and not trying to stop it...

if you think you're too small to make a difference.. try sleeping in a room with a mosquito
  • Izzy from Palo Alto, Cawhy did blink-182 break up anyways?
  • Tj from Woodbridge, Vais this the lead singer from blink 182?
This song is AWSOME! it has alot of meaning to it.
  • Ashley from Moncton, CanadaI think there's a maybe a deeper, philosophical side to this song- possibly how everything is connected, runs in cycles, and basically that atoms are neither created nor destroyed- how everything exists and contributes to our lives in some way, however insignificant.
  • Josh from Us, Calook at this song. God is interconnected in it. it all makes sense to me.
  • Corbin from Ashland, OhWell the first time i heard this song, it was on a memorial video for Anna Svidersky. For all who dont know, she wasd stabbed in the chest for no reason. She was only 17 years old, turning 18 in only 6 days. she was beautiful and she will be missed. but the song, along with the video was enough to make me cry for two hours (and im a guy). I hope Tom knows what kind of song he has on his hands here because its one of my favorite songs of all time now. I'm a huge fan of Blink and now I'm a huge fan of AVA.
