  • I'd like to thank the guy
    Who wrote the song
    That made my baby
    Fall in love with me

    Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
    Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
    Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
    Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
    Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
    He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!)

    When my baby heard
    "Bomp bah bah bomp "
"Bah bomp bah bomp bah bomp bomp"
Every word went right into her heart
And when she heard them singin'
    "Rama lama lama lama"
    "Rama ding dong"
She said we'd never have to part
    So

    Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
    Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
    Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
    Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
    Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
    He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!)

    Each time that we're alone
    Boogity boogity boogity
    Boogity boogity boogity shoo
Sets my baby's heart all aglow
And every time we dance to
    Dip da dip da dip
    Dip da dip da dip
She always says she loves me so
    So

    Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
    Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
    Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
    Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
    Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
    He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!) Lyrics licensed and provided by LyricFind

  • Sam Williams from Sherman Oaks.An interesting note from someone who was present during the recording session of the song (he played Sax on the record). The song was recorded at RCA Studios in New York. Which makes sense because Al Nevins Co produced this single and he produced all of Neil Sedaka’s early hits which were also all cut at RCA Studios in New York. All still within the Aldon Music Family at the Good Old 1650 Broadway Building in Glorious New York City during the Swinging Sixties. (which was NOT The Brill Building, just in case anybody was wondering. The Brill Building was 1619 Broadway, a building not too far away from the nearby 1650 building).

    * And of course all three are available on You Tube.
  • Danny from Bronx, NyIs this the only time Barry Mann and Gerry Goffin collaborated with each other, rather than with their usual respective partners, Cynthia Weil and Carole King? I know the two couples were good friends, or at least they are portrayed as such in the musical Beautiful.

The line "Who put the Ram in the Rama-lama-ding-dong" now makes me think that it is "Who put the RAM..." and I wonder how much RAM a "Rama-lama-ding-dong" device would need. But of course, that meaning of the word didn't exist when this was written.
  • Teresa from Mechelen, BelgiumThis song brings back my childhood; it's rather funny but I love it and Barry Mann has a sweet voice. Ofcourse I love very much the hitsongs he wrote with Cynthia Weil like "You've lost that loving felling" and "We got to get out of this place".
  • Beck from Columbia, ScTalk about your memories. I sang this song in chorus in high school (:
