  • She's simply awesome
    Ooh

She dashed by me in painted on jeans
And all heads turned 'cause she was the cream
In the blink of an eye I knew her number and her name, yeah
She said I was the tiger she wanted to tame

    Caribbean queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run

I lose my cool when she steps in the room, mmm
And I get so excited just from her perfume, mmm
Electric eyes that you can't ignore
And passion burns you like never before, mmm, mmm, mmm

I was in search of a good time
    Just running my game, yeah
    Love was the furthest
    Furthest from my mind, yeah

Caribbean queen (can you give me love?)
Now we're sharing the same dream (don't wanna stop)
And our hearts they beat as one (ooh)
No more love on the run
I love ya, I need ya

Caribbean queen (can you give me love?)
Now we're sharing the same dream (don't wanna stop)
And our hearts they beat as one (ooh, yeah)
No more love on the run
    Ah, mmm, mmm, mmm, yeah

Caribbean queen (can you give me love?)
Now we're sharing the same dream (ooh, don't stop)
And our hearts they beat as one (oh, lady, my baby)
No more love on the run
    (Mmm, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Caribbean queen (can you give me love?)
Now we're sharing the same dream (ooh, don't stop)
And our hearts they beat as one (oh, lady, my baby)
No more love on the run
    (Mmm, yeah, yeah, yeah)

    Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
    Ooh, ooh, ooh, hey
    Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
    Ooh, ooh, yeah, ohh
    She's the cream
    My Caribbean queen, yeah, yeah

I said, she dashed by me in painted jeans Writer/s: Billy Ocean, Keith Vincent Alexander, Leslie Sebestian Charles

  • Trekkie Mike from NevadaBilly Ocean and Night Ranger, greatest concert ever, man!
  • Alan from UsRather fitting that this song won for best r&b performance grammy in 1985, not 1984, the winner that year was Billie Jean, the bass line of which this song ripped off....
  • Cornwalis from Portland Orlove the vibrance of this song, the island flava, I played this song at high school battle of the bands in 1998, added some guitar solos, Caribbean queeb, now were sharing the same dream and our hearts can beat as won, no more love's on the run.
  • Dan S from CanadaOh my, its 2021....I am listening this for the 2nd time in my life....first time was somewhere in 2020 when I said I will need to do further research because I heard the song before. Now in 2021 I know exactly....it sounds like Billie Jean song of Michael Jackson....I came here while searching "Caribbean Queen" "Michael Jackson" in Google. I am a musician and glad that my ears don't fool me. I am sorry about Billy Ocean but this song is kinda....taken in the previous history.

Also.....on a secondary basis....the song Suddenly which is on the same album Suddenly (1984) has a lot in common with "Hello" of Lionel Richie. If you guys think I am crazy, then please think again and don't be so crazy like me. Noticing this, I think that the management of Billie Ocean was pushing the artist to sound like previous artists such as Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. No doubt about it....both songs Billie Jean and Hello were written during 1982-1983.
  • Seventhmist from 7th Heaven"Caribbean Queen is not my lover..."
  • Greg Bond from Weare NhI don't think it's an exact duplicate of "billy jean."
  • Luke from London, UkSo I'm not the only one who thought this was inspired by Billie Jean...
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn October 13th 1984, Billy Ocean appeared on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand' and lip-synced to "Caribbean Queen"...
One week earlier on October 6th Billy Ocean's video of "Caribbean Queen" was aired on 'Bandstand'...
    See next post below.

At the time the song was at #11 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and four weeks later on October 28th, 1984 it peaked at #1 for two weeks, it had entered the chart on August 5th, 1984 and spent 21 weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #1 {for 2 weeks} on November 2nd, 1984 on the Canadian RPM 100 Singles chart {it also peaked at #1 in New Zealand}...

He just missed having five #1 records when "Loverboy" in 1985 and "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Getting Going" in 1986 both peaked at #2 on the Top 100...
Mr. Ocean, born Leslie Sebastian Charles, will celebrate his 65th birthday in three months on January 21st {2015}.
  • Ross from Dunn, NcThis song is almost an exact duplicate of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". However, "Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)" is more mechanical; that is why "Billie Jean" is vastly better.
  • John from Nashville, TnThe bass line was inspired by Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".
  • Jeff from Austin, TxA lost 80s classic!! Great song!
  • Lalah from Wasilla, Akgreat workout song.
