  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn July 17th 1962, Brian Hyland performed "Sealed With A Kiss" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'...
At the time the song was at position #5 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, the following week it would peak at #3 (for 2 weeks)...
    (See next post below).
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn June 3rd 1962, "Sealed With A Kiss" by Brian Hyland entered Billboard's Top Hop 100 chart at position #100; and on July 22nd it peaked at #3 (for 2 weeks) and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100...
As already stated it also reached #3 in the U.K., and in Australia it peaked at #22...
Between 1960 and 1971 he had twenty-two Top 100 records; three made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" for 1 week in 1960 (his other Top 10 record was a covered version of the Impressions' "Gypsy Woman", it reached #3)...
Bobby Vinton covered "Sealed With A Kiss" in 1972; his version reached #19 on the Top 100 (in 1962 the two weeks Brian's original version was at #3, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Roses Are Red (My Love)" by Bobby Vinton.
  • Adrian from Johor Bahru, MalaysiaAlso covered by Bobby Vinton in 1972
  • Steve Dotstar from Los Angeles, CaMArk,
Another great arrangemet by Stan Applebaum(Where The Boys Are)
  • Steve Dotstar from Los Angeles, Cawonderful pop tune....I like(of all people)
Gary Lewis' version, even tho it's not the best...
  • Mark from Lancaster, OhSome questions, here. Why isn't this song listed under Brian Hyland in the artists listings? Who did that glorious harmonica work, and the instrumental and choral arrangement?

The song has been covered by lots of artists, and it's fun to go through the samples in iTunes and play them one after another. There is a reggae version. But the original is best: harmonica and bongo drums!

  • Sandy from Wellington, FlWhen this came out, I really thought it was written for me -- LOL!
  • Rodney from Toronto, CanadaCovered by Agnetha Fältskog, ABBA's erstwhile youngest member later on in her solo career. One of the best songs from my favorite musical period, the early 1960s. I'd like to share Fältskog's version:

    Wikipedia says:

Reviewing [Agnetha's album] release in The Guardian, Caroline Sullivan wrote: "Agnetha Fältskog has a vulnerability that gets under the skin of a song. She may be cheating a trifle by including no original material on this collection of 1960s covers, but if anyone can do justice to the likes of 'Sealed with a Kiss,' it's her. The soaring sentimentality evokes Cilla Black and Sandie Shaw in their mini-skirted pomp, and I don't say that lightly."

  • Jon from Oakridge, OrWhy am I the first to make a comment? This song is great. Very touching.
