  • On a cold winter of morning
In the time before the light
In flames of death's eternal reign
    We ride towards the fight

When the darkness is falling down
And the times are tough all right
    The sound of evil laughter
    Falls around the world tonight

Fightin' hard, fightin' on for the steel
    Through the wastelands evermore
The skeletors souls will feel the hell
    Bodies wasted on the shores

On the blackest wings in hell's domain
    We watch the lands become
In fire and flame, and once again we know

So now we're flying we're free
    We're free before the thunderstorm
    On towards the wilderness
    Our quest carries on

Far beyond the sun down, far beyond the moonlight
Deep inside our hearts and all our souls

So far away we wait for the day
For the light source so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and flames we carry on

As the red day is dawning
And the lightning cracks the sky
    They'll raise their hands
    To the heavens above
    Who descend unto their lies

Running back through the mid morning light
There's a burning in my heart
We're banished from the time in the foreign land
To a light beyond the stars

In your blackest dreams see to the need, that destiny is tied
And endlessly we're roaming free tonight

And on the wings of a dream so far beyond reality
All alone in desperation, now the time has gone
Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind
Day after day this misery must go on

So far away we wait for the day
For the light source so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and flames we carry on

    (Whoa's)

Now here we stand with their blood on our hands
We fought so hard, now can we understand
I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can
    For freedom of every man

So far away we wait for the day
For the light source so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and flames we carry on Writer/s: Herman Li, Sam Totman, Vadim Pruzhanov, ZP Theart

  • Ryan from AlabamaI play this song on guitar hero and it is difficult but I can survive most of the time (On expert.)
  • Laura from CanadaSounds like the USA’s Garth Brooks song Thunder Rolls. Metallica also did a cover to that song Turn the page. I swear they all sound the same in parts
  • Dragonforcelover7 from Monument, Co I love this song and for me, I didn't really like rock other than Skillet's "Monster". But after hearing this song I just LOVE IT!!!!!

And I saw someone do it on a piano, (youtube Rosseou through the fire and flames). Li and Sam are ultra Beasts with this and no one can do it like them.
  • Tha Baby from MiamiThis song is F****** AWESOME and it takes a bit of skill to play it on a guitar so all you people that don't like it can stop hearing it and stop talking trash and learn to play guitar maybe you wont complain so much about every little thing.
  • Charlie from Las Vegas, NvOne of the best songs to go for a run to.
  • Ian from Leeds, United KingdomI'm pretty sure that the kinda sound that the intro has could be made using today's equipment, I mean think of some of the tones that Van Halen got during the 80's, 20 years on and you're saying that a guitar CAN'T make the same tone as the intro? Also, they actually do play as fast as it is, if you've listened to Yngwie Malmsteen you'll know that he can play insanely fast, so can Li and Sam.

That said, I have to admit I only heard of these guys through GH3, but I have listened to their other stuff, and I like it.
  • Allison from Clarksville, Tnwhen i first heard this song, i was like theres no way theyre really playing this. so my brother told me to try to play it on guitar hero. i know that guitar hero is A LOT easier than playing the actual guitar. i couldnt even play the whole song on easy.
  • Deak from Kansas City, MoThe intro of this song is not keyboard, it is a Spanish Acoustic. The reason for the misunderstanding is because early on when they played it live they used a keyboard. Now when they play it live Herman is playing it on the spanish acoustic and there's a little pause when it goes into the fast picking so that Herman can get back to his electric guitar. Early on they just thought it would be easier to play the intro on keyboard so Herman didn't have to jump from one guitar to the next.

And no this is not impossible to 100% on guitar hero. Dozens of people have done it.
  • Tyler from Greeneville, TnNot many things will leave me speechless, this did.
  • Squigle from Columbus, Oh(Add to my last post): Why can't you people just get that this is how they sound? Or that some people are just THAT GOOD at playing instruments. Or that some people can acctually sing THAT GOOD??? You losers who judge without giving people are probably just jealous!!

No offense to those who suck at guitar. TAKE LESSONS!!!! IT'S WAY EASIER!!! JUST 'CAUSE JIMMY PAGE DIDN'T DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!

This ticks me off so much!!
  • Squigle from Columbus, Oh@wheathome:You CAN whammy with no whammy bar. Imagine you're playing the guitar. With your finger on fret 1 of the deep-E string. Now, when you pick that string, you can move your finger towards the next string on the fretboard. Doing this, you can even bend the string to sound like it's up to 2 frets ahead of where your finger actually is. IT doesn't take a pro guitar player to do it. I mean, even I do it!! And the first part is NOT AN ACOUSTIC PART!!! It's piano. Watch the music video!!!
  • Squigle from Columbus, OhIt took me a while to get used to this song. But now I like it.
  • Matt from Andover, MnI went to their concert last september! and for those of you who think they're fake and play it slow then speed it up in the studio and all that crap....you're DEAD WRONG!!! sure they FINE TUNE things in the studio..but doesn't everyone nowadays?
im just sayin that i saw with my own eyes up in the front row that Dragonforce is NOT fake!!!! so there XD
  • Mike from Denver, Co@ Joe, El Paso, TX, u r completely right dude. Dragonforce wishes they could actually be like other bands and play MUSIC. not just speed up this crap. every song sound the same. like its out of World of Warcraft, or some anime comic book. the lyrics are so cheesy i cant help but cringe and gag when i hear them. plus the singer edits his crappy voice in the studio. yes, computers can make music, and now we have moronic dumb@$$ kids praising it
  • Daktoa from Greenville, Alman this song is awesome, but i hated it on guitar hero 3, it is imposible to get 100% on that song. but i still love the song
  • Joe from El Paso, Txlisen ppls, we dont want to hear how "frikkin awesome" this song is. First off, i know of a rumor about dragonforce; i heard that they play the song really slow then speed it up to make it sound good. and yes, it is a keyboard being played, any guitar expert could tell u that it is impossible to make that exact sound on an electric guitar as of today, maybe in the future, but not today. Thank you damien, at least someone knows what im talking about. well anyways, yes this song is about war, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
  • Dan from Sp, BrazilRecently, both Sam and Herman, are doing the intro in an acoustic guitar, playing with the keyboard. Maybe that's something to do with the intro did in Guitar Hero.
  • Rickey from Lansing, Migood song, probably Dragonforce's best mostly because it was the first I heard. Personally, I find most of their music to sound the same. Their songs get annoyingly similal after a while.
  • Derek from Somewhere, DeThis band is frikkin awesome. I can actually beat this song on guitar hero 3 on expert and I am only 13......
  • Daniel from Tomball, Txone time i had a dream about playing this song and my guitar cood shoot fire at all my enemies. Remember Godzilla? It was really me that took him down. Mullet Power!
  • John from Moline, IlWheatmore, Aberdeen, United Kingdom, He uses something called a hot hand, it makes the strings magneticly vibrate somehow, ive never been able to play with one, but i hear its fun!
  • Justin from Covina, CaI really used to like this song, but with GH3, it lost... something. I don't know, it just doesn't seem the same when the only song people know by DragonForce is TTFaF, just because of Guitar Hero. DragonForce is still awesome, though.
  • Wheatmore from Aberdeen, United Kingdomiv heard herman li can whammy without a whammy bar

    truely a god
  • Kris from Spartanburg, Sci mean i used to like dragonforce but listen to the name and all there songs are just random notes being played i mean slayer, metallica, guns n' roses, or Yngwie Malmsteen, there are awesome
    they don't play random notes
i mean i play the drums and i can make up a dragonforce solo
    you just gotta pick fast
  • Cody from Kansas City, MoThe beginning part of the song actually is guitar. It's like a Spanish acoustic or something.
  • Bill from Waco, Txgh3 makes this song seem impossible...don't get me wrong... is ok but seriously half the song is drums and keyboard. and which gh is jordan on? i only have 3 and WT.
  • Kay from Southampton , United Kingdomtotally love this band and they completely kick ass live xD
  • Marley from Springfield, NjThis band is ok. People are saying Herman Lee is the best guitar player ever but when you look at his solos closely you can tell he is not nearly as good as Buckethead.
  • Pvt Don Denton from Raleigh, NcFor christ sake! on and on about it being hard on gh3 theres faster dragonforce songs and even more complicated ones. the first solo herman li does in heart of a dragon is too ridiculus to place on gh. quit bitchin. this song can be interpreted in many different ways. i think its about the apocalpyse. however it can be about epic battles and the struggle for mankinds existance. dragonforce talks either about the distant past or the distant future. Disciples of Babylon is slightly similar to the messege in through the fire and flames. but a recommendation to one of the new dforce songs...reasons to live
  • Nathan from Marion, IaThis song grew on me for a while, I love how it's fast paced. SHWEET SONG
  • Adam from Yarmouth, MeIt might not be there best song but it sure is up there on the list.
  • Steve from Bridgeville, PaI don't even think this is their best song. I actually have heard of DragonForce before I even heard of Guitar Hero. My friend showed me the music video for Operation Ground and Pound and I liked it a lot but I didn't love it. When I heard ttfaf was going to be on gh3, I looked into DragonForce more. I think their best songs are Operation Ground and Pound, Fury of the Storm, and Valley of the Damned.
  • Tyler from Windsor, OnExcellent song, however, Valley Of The Damned is way better.
  • The Rev Jr from New York ,dragonforce is only popular from gh3. I am one of the few who knew about them before guitar hero. I bet 90% of the people here only like DF from guitar hero and this is the only song they listen to.
hey, people with gh3, ever listen to "valley of the damned"? ever heard "evening star"?

    Thought so.

    >_<
  • Rauel from New York, Nyi would like to know how they can play that fast. it is wicked awesome!! it is soooo hard on guitar hero 3...i doubt ill ever beat it.
  • Avery from Bucksport, MeThis song is cool but the heart of the dragon is way better!
  • Pete from Tibshelf, United Kingdomto be honest, i dont think any of dragonforce's song have any deep meaning lyrically, but the guitar playing is absolutely incredible
  • Zachbon from Okemos, Mithis is not that good if a song great guitar but Stairway is better
  • Damien from Edmonton, CanadaIt's obvious the songs are sped up. Watch them live, that's why they're called Studioforce!
  • Quentin from Dry Creek,ms, MsI love this song and those who wrote it deserve more thanks than i could possibly muster
  • Quentin from Dry Creek,ms, MsOMFG, this is the greatest song in the world. Jesus Christ on the cross in hell with a crown of thorns and a thousand farewells would falter to do better,q
  • Zach from Green Bay, Withis song is insane on hyperspeed 10 expert
  • Marshall from Salem, OrThis song is the Hardest Fricken Song in the world on Gutar Hero 3!!! :)
  • Jake from Columbia City, InCRAZY INSANE SONG. How do they do it???
  • Kris from Spartanburg, ScI think it's talkin about the apocalypse "The scattered souls will feel the hell bodies wasted on the shores" talkin about the final battle with good against evil "So now we fly ever free
    We're free before the thunderstorm
On towards the wilderness our quest carries on
Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight" talkin about when it is over we will be free or at least some of us "So far away we wait for the day
For the light source so wasted and gone
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days
Through the fire and the flames we carry on" talking about how long we've been waitin and once the fire and the flames are gone we will carry on
"As the red day is dawning
And the lightning cracks the sky
They'll raise their hands to the heavens above
    With resentment in their eyes
Running back from the mid-morning light
There's a burning in my heart
We're banished from a time in a fallen land
To a life beyond the stars" its talkin about the red day red=blood or when Jesus comes the sky will turn red life beyond the stars i mean it says it in the song how easy is it to tell
"In your darkest dreams see to believe
    Our destiny is time
And endlessly we'll all be free tonight
" we'll be free tonight talkin about our souls
"And on the wings of a dream, so far beyond reality
All alone in desperation, now the time has gone
Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind
Day after day this misery must go on
" talkin about what we dream might actually come true and that we couldn't imagine it
"Now here we stand with their blood on our hands
We fought so hard now can we understand
I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can
For freedom of every man" talkin about in the end of the world all of the lives lost of the dead will have their deed done
