    Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl
    Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl
    Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl

As I walk through this world
Nothing can stop the Duke of Earl
And-a you, you are my girl
And no one can hurt you, oh no

Yes-a, I, oh I'm gonna love you, oh oh
Come on let me hold you darlin'
'Cause I'm the Duke of Earl
    So hey yea yea yeah

    And when I hold you
You'll be my Duchess, Duchess of Earl
    We'll walk through my dukedom
And a paradise we will share

Yes-a, I, oh I'm gonna love you, oh oh
    Nothing can stop me now
'Cause I'm the Duke of Earl
    So hey yeah yeah yeah

  • Babbling Babette from Tulsa OkI loved "Duke of Earl" when it was released in early '62. The year 1962 had some giant hits & this was one. I guess it was one of the last "doo-wop" songs. I recall seeing Gene Chandler on TV shows back then with his snazzy cane, shoe-spats, and big black cape. How cool was that??!! Then in the 2000s I watched one of the PBS-TV concerts with Sixties stars. Gene Chandler was in one of the filmed concerts doing "Duke of Earl" walking down the aisle toward the stage in his top hat & tails & cape. So cool!!
