  • Well you know just what you do to me
The way you move soft and slippery
Cut the night just like a razor
Rarely talk and that's the danger

    It's the one thing
    You are my thing

You know your voice is a love song
It's a cat call from the past
There's no ice in your lover's walk
You don't look twice cause you move so fast

    It's the one thing
    You are my thing

You've got a dozen men behind you
You've got dead flowers on the floor
You're too pretty in the daylight
It keeps them coming back for more

    It's the one thing
    You are my thing

    It's the one thing
    You are my thing

    It's the one thing
You are my thing Writer/s: ANDREW CHARLES FARRISS, MICHAEL HUTCHENCE

  • Rick from Des Moines, Ia.The break fill in this song are genius, absolute Gold bullion.
  • Salleeeeee from Rocket CityI remember the first time I saw this video. I thought he looks like Mick Jagger and I was in love. Still my favorite INXS song
  • Jammer777 from Fort Worth, TexasI believe this song is about a couple who don't have much in common except sex. The lyrics indicate that they don't really talk and that's a problem (the danger) but at least they have, "The One Thing" that keeps them together. He says tenderly, "You are my thing," so it's not all bad. He also implies that she has had a lot of lovers with the line about dead flowers all over the floor which also indicates a sexual nature.
  • Dusk Blackman from Albany, Georgia (u.s.a.)I first heard this song on MTV when I was in Honolulu, Hawaii summer of 1983. he was so young. who was to know that he would turn out to be a legend in his own right.
