Sky High

Album: Sky High (1975)
Charted: 9 3
  • Blown round by the wind
    Thrown down in a spin

    I gave you love
I thought we had made it to the top
I gave you all I had to give
Why did it have to stop

You've blown it all sky high
    By telling me a lie
    Without a reason why
You've blown it all sky high

You, you've blown it all sky high
Our love had wings to fly
We could have touched the sky
You've blown it all sky high

    Up round I've flown
Then down down like a stone

I gave you love Writer/s: CLIVE KENNETH SCOTT, DESMOND DYER

  • Seventhmist from 7th HeavenOne of the better one-hit wonders of the 70s.
  • Neil from Point CookIt sounds like Brad Delp of Boston .. singer of more than a feeling. Maybe it is him singing.
  • Astrid from Morgan Hill, CaHadn't heard this oddly enjoyable treasure for decades until recently, thanks to '70s satellite radio... and remember thinking hey that's Paul McCartney/Wings, but why doesn't it get more airplay? LOL
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn August 24th 1975, "Sky High" by Jigsaw entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #88; and on November 30th, 1975 it peaked at #3 {for 2 weeks} and spent 21 weeks on the Top 100...
The band had three other Top 100 records; "Love Fire" {#30 in 1976}, "Brand New Love Affair" {#66 in 1976}, and "If I Have to Go Away" {#93 in 1977}...
Sadly, two members of the band have passed away; vocalist/drummer Dave "Biffo" Beech {1945 - 2007} and vocalist/keyboardist Clive Scott {1945 - 2009}.
  • Camille from Toronto, OhThis song has the quintessential bubblegum pop song sound, and I mean that in the best way. Here they are singing about blowing something sky high, but it sounds so nice the way they do it! I've always liked the song. Here it is, 2012...heard it on the radio last night and it was still fun to listen to. The energy and rhythm of the instrumentation move the lyrics along quickly, especially the trumpeting. It puts me in mind of someone running away from a big explosion. Oh, and yep, sure does sound like a Paul McCartney & Wings tune!

  • Graham from Windsor, AustraliaUntil I discovered the clip on "Youtube" I always thought that the singer was a woman! Love the "wacka wacka" guitar effect.
  • Christopher L. from Fort Worth, TxI must say that Joshua,La Crosse,WI has a point I never really thought about it, but they do sound similar... you have a great ear!
  • Muzza from Auckland, New ZealandThis was an English Band but the song came out when Australia was really promoting local talent so they Became Known as English Jigsaw because there was an Australian band called Jigsaw also.
  • Joshua from La Crosse, WiAs a kid, I was somehow under the impression that Paul McCartney and Wings did this song. The two groups did kinda-sorta sound like one another.
