Applause

Album: ARTPOP (2013)
Charted: 5 4
  • I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong
To crash the critics saying, "is it right or is it wrong?"
If only fame had an IV, baby could I bear
Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here

I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause-plause, live for the applause-plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
    The applause, applause, applause

Give me that thing that I love (Turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)
Give me that thing that I love (Turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)

    (A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch
    (A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch

    I've overheard your theory
    "Nostalgia's for geeks"
I guess sir, if you say so
Some of us just like to read

    One second I'm a kunst
Then suddenly the kunst is me
    Pop culture was in art
Now, art's in pop culture in me

    Ooh touch, touch ooh
Touch, touch now ooh ooh ooh ooh

I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause-plause, live for the applause-plause
Live for the way that you cheer and scream for me
    The applause, applause, applause

Give me that thing that I love (Turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)
Give me that thing that I love (Turn the lights on)
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)

    (A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)
    (A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud
Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch

  • Robert from Kintore OntThis was the last conversation with gaga. She asked why musicians do it. but denied my reasoning until the dancer was done and smiled when everyone clapped. Even more the bigger the crowd. Yours Poseidon
  • Bambie from PhilippinesI love all the costume changes in the video.
  • Camille from Toronto, OhGaga knocks it out of the park once again. Everything comes together in this song: the lyrics, the vocals, the tune, another epic video. In the video, Gaga appears to have matured and come more into her own since we last saw her. She seems more authentically self-confident. I love all the costume changes in the video. The beautiful yellow hair and green tile jacket she wears are sublime, although my favorite is the simple black body leotard and stetchy black cap she wears. Its simplicity allows her artistry to shine bright. Well done, Lady Gaga. Well done.
