  • I won't go away
    Right, right here, I stay

    Stand silent in flames
    Stand tall 'til it fades

Shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
Come on, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
I said, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
Come on, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet

    Come on, shoot me again
    Shoot me again, shoot me
Shoot me again, shoot me again
    Come on, shoot me again
    Shoot me again, shoot me
Shoot me again, shoot me again, come on

    All the shots I take
    I spit back at you
    All the shit you fake
    Comes back to haunt you

    All the shots
    All the shots

    All the shots I take
    What difference did I make?
    All the shots I take
    I spit back at you

I won't go away (with a bullet in my back)
Right, right here, I stay (with a bullet in my back)

    Shoot me, shoot me
    Shoot me, shoot me

I stand on my own (with a bullet in my back)
I'm stranded and sold (with a bullet in my back)

Shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
Go on, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
Yeah, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet
Come on, shoot me again, I ain't dead yet

I said, shoot me again, shoot me again
Come on, shoot me again, shoot me again
Come on, shoot me again, shoot me again
Shoot me, shoot me again, shoot me again, yeah

    All the shots I take
    I spit back at you
    All the shit you fake
    Comes back to haunt you

    All the shots
    All the shots

    All the shots I take
What difference did I make? (What difference did I make?)
    All the shots I take
    I spit back at you

    Bite my tongue
    Trying not to shoot back
    No compromise
My heart won't pump the other way

    Wake the sleeping giant
    Wake the beast
    Wake the sleeping dog
    Don't let him sleep
    Wake the sleeping giant
    Wake the beast
    Wake the sleeping dog
    Don't let him sleep

    Bite my tongue
    Trying not to shoot back

    All the shots I take
    I spit back at you
    All the shit you fake
    Comes back to haunt you

    All the shots
    All the shots

    All the shots I take
Hey, what difference did I make? (What difference did I make?)
Yeah, all the shots I take
I spit back at you Writer/s: Bob Rock, James Alan Hetfield, Kirk L. Hammett, Lars Ulrich

  • Zero from Nowhere, NjChris/Chirs Lover Park (don't know if that's a typo or not), you're right, it's called turning off the snare, which basically makes it sound like a tinny tom-tom. It works for tool's drummer but not for a drummer of Lars' style who constantly beats on the snare drum.
  • Shawn from Frostburg, MdShoot me again? Please just keep shooting because this song and album sucks bad ! Remember when Metallica rocked? I know, it has been a while.
  • Jordan from Liberty City, Txi drew the st anger album art a couple of days ago i just did it in black n white and it rocked! metallica rocks plus quit whining about st anger GOD oh metallica didnt play exactly like we wanted them to oh well pop ur mothers tit out of ur mouth and quit whining!
  • Chirs from Loves Park, IlIt's "Saint Anger"
and i figured out how lars makes that very different drum sound
he simply unclipped one of the buckles to the drum and it made this sound instead
  • Donald from Corpus Christi, TxI love the cd St. Anger. But one question... Is it Saint Anger or Street Anger???
  • Cvas from Ridgefield, CtLars Ulrich was especially psyched about the words "What difference did I make?" in this song. He felt that it would be a good idea if those words could be thrown out, but go unanswered within the song.
  • Kirk Black from Puchong, MalaysiaShoot me again i aint dead yet..
come on shoot me again..i like it well
  • Chris from Easton, Mawhen i first hear about the St. Anger cd, i was like most fans in disliking the new stuff like garage inc. But after i heard the album, i thought it was great!! There are a few things i am not a fan of like is the lack of great lyrics. Like "some kind of monster" great sound but not the best lyrics. I think that another reason alot of people dont like the "new" stuff is the fact that its metallica and they are so great that they have to make great music and anything else is a waste of time...but i wouldnt want metallica doing the same stuff over again...to me it would get old fast
  • Jess from Milford, Pa"Rar", the thing is, even if this album DID have solos, it would have blown chunks.
  • Jess from Milford, PaDrewso, I agree. It does have a grunge feel to it. And even though I have a great love for thrunge (Thrash/Grunge Fusion for those of you who dont know...) I dislike the album greatly.
  • Drewso from Unknown, MaThe Old Stuff is the best Like Black Album, Puppets,Ride The Lighting, justice, load & Reload but still I love St. Anger it is a bit more Raw but it's pretty awesome to it is just more Grungey Metallica F*ckin Rules anyway
  • Rar from Flint, MiA thought just occurred to me, the other day. Though most people find St. Anger a pathetic failure, many people actually like it. I think metallica is showing off their compositional talent because they did not need to use any soloes to make a decent cd.
  • Neil from London, EnglandThere are two problems with the album: 1. Lars has a new snare drum with annoys the hell out of me, it sounds like a cow bell, and would be ok in one or two songs (works well in St. Anger, shoot me again and to a degree frantic), but not a whole album. 2. When writing the songs, metallica were trying to remind people that they still kicked ass. You cannot kick ass if you try to, it is something which must come naturally. Since they hadn't wrote origional material in almost 10 years, and had taken a beating in the media, they wanted to prove they were still kings - all they need to do is listen to black, justice or puppets to remeber who they are and their next album will be pure genius.
  • Paulo from India, United StatesI felt this album had potential, but the thing has an under-produced feel. The songs feel unfinished and the sound is murky.
  • Ian from New York, NyI'm I the only person who likes S.t Anger? Sure it drags on a bit but just because it's raw doesn't make it crap.
  • Tim from Leuven, BelgiumNOT rubbish , it's just metallica new style , although the old style is way better , but metallica is NEVER rubbish
  • Paulo from New York, NyThis song (and album) is under-produced rubbish.
