  • Little James, we're all the same
Always seem to look to us
We weren't meant to be grown ups
    Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

Live for your toys, even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plasticine?
    Even tried a trampoline?
    Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum and that's all
It won't be long before everyone is gone

Sailed out to sea, your mum, you, and me
You swam the ocean like a child
Life around us was so wild
    Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
It won't be long before everyone is gone Writer/s: Liam Gallagher

  • Lore from Australiaembarrassing song, jus a tokenistic things to give Liam a leg up as a songwriter, take away all the production and instrumentation and you still left with a pig, no matter how the producer has dressed it up. my 7 year old writes better poetry. what was Noel thinking in letting this on the album?
  • Matthew from Scotland This is a great song, anyone that disagrees doesn’t know the true meaning of music
  • Karl from Ingatestone, United Kingdomthis used to be a dreadful Oasis song, but as a Oasis fan i actually like this song and i like to thank Liam Gallagher for dedicating this classic song to his little one.
next time i start doing a Oasis tribute album in me (that's Mancunian for my) Wilkinsons pad, i will close the Oasis setlist with this song. that is on Friday July 17th, which is named after howl old i am
thanks for making me visit Songfact and i will be on here until July 2012, however no silly messages on here the next time i am on here.
  • Matt from Kirkwall, United KingdomThe lyrics leave a lot to be desired about, but the tune itself is lovely. Not great, but neither is it the disaster that I'd heard everyone say it was.
  • J from Port Huron, MiActually, I think this was a brilliant move for Liam. The first song he wrote to be recorded by the band is ridiculous, but by setting the bar low he had nowhere to go but up. It's the wince-inducing lyrics that destroy the song, but as he says in the song itself, it's for James and his mum (and that's all)...probably should have stayed that way, but it makes later Liam songs--Songbird, Pass Me Down the Wine, Won't Let You Down, etc.--seem all that much better by comparison. Liam's a genius.
  • Claire from ManchesterThis is a dreadful song written by Liam Gallagher he should've left the writing to Noel.
