• Ernest from Derry/londonderry, Northern Ireland.So,..in the Song, called, 'My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down'/'Bonzo Goes To Bitburg', referring to a certain horrifically awful choice of a place to visit for any human being , never mind the President of the United States as Ronald Reagan was in the year 1985, then, my question is, what woman does the Song's words refer to in real life, when it refers to or alludes to a particular woman, (although not named in the Song), via the words such as.."A fifty thousand Dollar Dress", and, " Shouldn't Wish Her Happiness"..(etc.etc.),which are words also denoted in the same song.
  Even though i am currently extremely confused about the refence to the woman in the above-mentioned song, it does not matter, as this song is now one of my all-time most beloved songs ever.
  Perhaps someone reading this could clear away my confusion, and enlighten me about who the female is, and why is she alluded to in this song.

• Steve C from Wellington, NzWhen Joey Ramone, who was Jewish, saw Ronald Reagan visiting the Waffen-SS graves in Bitburg he felt physically ill. He often clashed with Johnny Ramone, who was a hard right conservative and a big Reagan fan. Johnny didn't like the song and insisted that the main title be changed. But the song is still generally known as "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" rather than "My Brain is Hanging Upside Down", whatever it says on the cover of the album.

Second, I liked School of Rock, but now when I have people listen to the song, they think of the movie, instead of the real political message behind it, which is pretty much Reagan selling out just to make headlines.

I suffer froma depression thats band and this song by its self can bring my spirits up really quick. I recommend this song to every one. it could even be the anwser to world peace(Ok, I'm over exagerating)

  I listen to it when i'm feeling down (which is quite often, sadly) and it seems to cheer me up really well. Although i love all of the other Ramones songs (Pet Semetary, etc.) this one is almost hypnotic and i swear it was one of the greatest days of my life when i learned to play it on guitar...and thats not saying i have a pathetic life i just love the song
