  • I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

That every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you
    Yes, He did

I think about the years I spent just passin' through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
    You've been there, you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you
    Yeah, yeah, mhm

And now I'm just rollin' home
    Into my lover's arms
This much I know (I know) is true (is true)
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Eh-eh, yeah, yeah Writer/s: Bobby Boyd, Jeff Hanna, Marc Hummon

  • Jolene from TxTo me it reflects getting adopted, when I was on the road as an orphan, it was not fun. People would laugh at me and joke around because I was a dirty little orphan girl, then I got adopted by my forever family! I think the mean jokesters are like the ones who broke my heart but they were kinda leading me toward adoption! I got adopted straight of the street and have been very happy ever since
  • Heather from Medicine Hat I love this song! I'm 60 years old and getting married for the 2nd time 2 the love of my life. Was married young many years ago and have been divorced about 25 years. I will be walking down the isle into my husband's arm's 2 this song. It's perfect!! Thanks 4 singing it 4 us.
  • Dan U from Nc, UsThis is mine and my wife's song. I'd always wanted a storybook or Hollywood kind of love story, so I always put too much of myself into relationships, and they'd usually end really badly for me. When I first saw her face, I was smitten. In the course of a 10-minute conversation with her, I was in love. When we started dating, I thought about all the things I learned from each relationship prior, and how they all prepared me in particular ways to be ready for her. I told her this, and she played me this song. I've never before had the experience of hearing in a song precisely what I'd just been feeling and saying.
  • Tammy from Charleston, WvI love this song. After losing my husband of 30 years to suicide, needless to say my two children and myself and many others were devastated, I said I would never remarry again, but then I met a man on a blind date that a co-worker introduced to me. And we did marry, actually at our wedding reception I sang this song to him and he just cried. I am so thankful for a chance at love again. You just never know what the Lord has in store for us.
  • Kathy'sclown from Denver, CoWho really knows whether its destiny or chance?
    I don't.
  • Dave from Toledo, OhRascal Flatts are a very good band. Bless the Broken Road is one of their best songs.
