  • (Superstition, fear, and jealousy)

Dead I am the one, exterminating son
Slipping through the trees, strangling the breeze
Dead I am the sky, watching angels cry
While they slowly turn, conquering the worm

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

Dead I am the pool, spreading from the fool
Weak and what you need, nowhere as you bleed
Dead I am the rat, feast upon the cat
Tender is the fur, dying as you purr

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

Do it baby, do it baby
Do it baby, do it baby
    (And burn like an animal)

Dead I am the life, dig into the skin
Knuckle crack the bone, twenty-one to win
Dead I am the dog, "Hound of Hell", you cry
Devil on your back, I can never die

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

Do it baby, do it baby
Do it baby, do it baby
    (And burn like an animal)

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula!

    Dig through the ditches
    And burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my Dragula! Writer/s: Robert Zombie, Scott Humphrey

  • Catlvr from OrlandoAlso, most of you masculine entities attempting to format an answer here are Idi-OTS. As in Bots, you've been so programmed. This is so GD (goddess damn) hilarious to me!!!------------G
  • Catlvr from OrlandoWTF is with the kitty-cat hate? From one of many who appreciates a great purr, WTF? "Feast upon the cat, Tender is the Fur, Dying as you Purr"------who gives a flying freck what he went on to become (horror movie director, rock star, who cares here?) This man has condoned the torturing and killing of cats. And should be held accountable.
  • Gt from NashvilleSpanish Inquisition quote from Tomas de Torquemada- He trolled all your dumb ass's that didnt pay attn in world history class!!! Genius using the munster coach in the video . Song is about EVIL rulers what they did how they thought. The car was to sell more albums to dum dums like yourself! RZ is/was brilliant!
  • Curly from Lake Jackson, TxIt was the Spanish Inquisition where Tomas de Torquemada (1420-1498) made this statement I dig through the ditches and burn through the witches I slam in the back of my dragula. Look it up
  • Paweł Tomaszyński from KrakówDevil on your back.... please yourself at your own beginning... what is behind you in case of space time or what? Look with your eyes to the back of your head only one true spot where you wont observe blackness but darkness :). Anyone who practice kundalini energy and traveled throw this song as a being probably understands what kind of bomb is mentioned. Direct hit can be found as reference to Ometeotl 2-god what if there is 2? Probably this bomb can force someone to see 4-ever. Or may be I'm looking too deep in reality code :D.
  • AnonymousCould "dig through the ditches" be a reference to foreplay or the sex act itself? Also, could "burn through the witches" be a reference to a workout "burn" sustained through the (witches rhymes with
"b--ches") Or, a simpler interpretation could be a reference to a rock star's tendency to bed an endless string of women...."burn through them".
  • Mike Delaney from Albany, NyDoes anyone know the movie that features the creepy clown?
  • Pr from IndiaI think the reference to Christopher Lee and "superstition, fear and jealousy" is from Horror Hotel and not The City of the Dead.
  • Tim from Northfield, MnTo all of those who are comparing this to the Salem Witch trials and various war crimes:
    Stop.
The lyrics are written to be metaphors for having sex in the back of a car.
"Devil on your back" - She's on her back and is having a good time and wanting more.
"Dead I am the Rat, Feast upon the cat" - C'mon. Think. What's another word for cat that's on the female body?
I'd list more, but that would venture down the path of inappropriate to post.
  • Steven from Lincoln Park, Mi"Dig through the ditches" is a reference to ditch-digging which was a common forced-labor punishment for prisoners on a chain-gang. It was also a practice for dictatorships to force captives to dig ditches for use as their own mass grave before being executed. Combine this with "burn through the witches" and he is obviously referring to false imprisonment, conviction, and execution. I think he just wrote it because it sounded good. Also, the phrase "conquering the worm" is widely understood to mean finishing off an authentic high-grade bottle of tequila which has a worm at the bottom, but can also be an allusion to Lair of the White Worm, a novel by Bram Stoker (author of Dracula) that was also made into a film.
  • Jamie from Sarasota, FlI agree with the statement about the Salem Witch Trials. t does say "dig through the ditches and burn through the witches" along with "Devil on your back, I can never die" Where the people thought to be witches were constantly searched for the "devil's mark" which was commonly "found" on the back or the breast.
  • Gerald from Los Angeles, CaI think the "burn through the witches, dig through the ditches" part may be a reference to the Salem Witch trials..
  • Daktoa from Greenville, Alon twisted metal 4 they use the matrix remix version.
  • Dawn from Man, WvThe name of the family car on the Munsters was "the Koach". "Dragula" was the name of Grandpa Munster's coffin car made like a drag racing car. The Koach was actually made from 3 Model T bodies and was made to look like the old Touring Cars of that era. The video is misleading in the fact it shows Rob riding in the Koach while singing about Dragula, but Dragula really was the coffin hot rod Grandpa drove.
  • Dexter from Miami, FlGood song. Not sure what he meant by "Burn thru the witches slam thru the ditchs" but maybe that is to be left up to the listener.
  • Kayla from Oklahoma City, OkThis song is featured in the beginning of the movie, "The Watcher".
  • Lynne from Easthampton, MaThis song played during a "Haunted Forest" scene around halloween time which gives me lots of good memories!!
  • Mike from Burkittsville, MdCool song. Most of Zombie's songs should appear in horror movies.
  • Bobbilyn from Jacksonville, FlIf you like this check out Black Sunshine by White Zombie. ITs about a "...Mustang exploding on the highway like a slug from a .45"
  • Kornyei from Oravita, Romaniayou should hear it in reverse!!lol!!but i like it!i made a clip with the animation program named "pencil" and mixed it whith Dragula and it was soooooooo cool!!
  • Jorge Lopez from Copperas Cove, TxThis song is in all my workout playlists in my MP3. The rhythm really gets you going.
  • Tommy from Marietta, GaThe very first line of the song that was "superstition, fear and jealousy" were spoken by Christopher Lee from the movie Horror Hotel.
  • Joe from Chicago, Ilfor album title it should be Hellbilly Deluxe not Dragula
  • Joe from ---, MoThis song was featured in Twisted Metal 4. You could ALSO play as Rob Zombie himeself in the Dragula car. The song is in the first level (Construction Site)of the tournament...now you know. Don't beleive me? Theres always GOOGLE to trust!
  • Angie from London, EnglandThis is a great song, although I prefer the remix on the Matrix album.
  • Eric from Belpre, OhThe car ..Dragula ..was atually a car built for Grandpa on the Munsters by..George Barris...The car used in the Dragula Video is ..The Munsters koach..also built by..George Barris ...P.S....Barris let Rob Zombie barrow the car for the video shoot.
  • Jen from Ontario, Canadai heard that zombie used to race cars and he called his car "DRAGULA"
  • Nikki from Clarksville, United Statesi think this song is a tad bit sexual but im not sure
  • Mark from Philadelphia, PaI love this song. I have a wicked ass T-bird and I crank the hell out of this and rip through the neighborhoods with it blaring. I love doing it after a stressful day.
  • Michael from Hialeah, FlThis song was featured in one of the most claimed games called Twisted Metal
  • Ryan from Mobile, AlI could have sworn this was a Metallica song. I thought it was saying "Honey, I am the one" so I kept looking for a song by Metallica called "The One"
  • Amanda from Mineral Ridge, OhThe car in the video is a Model T Ford which Rob Zombie made into a hearse.
