  • Gwynne from Garland,txDoes anyone know why some lyric sheets say "can I have a little more" vs. " can I have a little fore?"
  • Julia from Milton, Pathis is why i love watching those sprint commercials on the t&v
  • Breanna from Henderson, NvI love this song! It's so simple yet it's brillant.
  • Sara from Silver Spring, MdKenny Loggins covered this for his recent album "All Join In" but changed the line "Can I take my friend to bed" to "Mama says its time for bed" so it would be appropiate for children.
  • Mariana from Miami, FlI like this song, though I think the best song from the actual "Yellow Submarine" in my opinion would have to be "Hey Bulldog" or "Northern Song" :) Michael, my bands are a bit better.
    1) The Beatles
    2) ACDC
    3) Nirvana
    4) Talking Heads
    5) Guns n' Roses
  • Julia from Richland, WaApparently the Beatles sang this for the Maharishi, but instead of singing "I Love You" they sang "Jai Guru Dev"
  • Ken from Louisville, KyPaul said he always enjoyed hearing crowds as English football (soccer) matches singing the chorus as their adopted team song.
  • Chloe from St. Louis, Mowell said, michael from oxford! im 13 and i couldnt agree more.
  • Marissa from Akron, OhIt would be a great song for kids except for the line "Black, white, green, red, can I take my friend to bed" because that sounds just a teensy bit sexual. However, it could be explained away as the "friend" being a teddy bear, because for a child it's equally likely that you would bring your teddy "friend" to tea as well as to bed. I'm sure that wasn't what the Beatles meant but it would make sense to a kid.
  • Olivia from Chicago, Ili have mixed feelings on the beatles being on comercials, part of me thinks that 'at least people are listening and hearing the greatest band ever' but then i remember that the beatles didnt and dont want them on commercials.
  • Natalie from Bromley, United KingdomI remember my dad playing this song to me when I was very small and when I hear it now it still makes me want to clap and sing! Such a good campfire song!
  • Rosario from Naples, FlI LOVE this song. No one knows it but it's great.
  • Fred from Laurel, MdMichael/Oxford--I hereby nominate "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" for "Worst Beatles Song Ever." Actually, is it even a song?? It was on the flip side of the "Let It Be" single, and was never on an album, at least in the U.S.
  • Forrest from Rochester, MnDoesn't that song in the TV commercial by Fiest sound a little too much like All Together Now?
  • Michael from OxfordI'm 16 and I don't get teased for my top 5 bands:
    1) The Beatles
    2) Pink Floyd (Echoes, 23½ minutes long? I don't feel that at all! Well, maybe I do, but in a good way)
    3) Led Zeppelin (even though my speaking voice is now really deep, I can still sing even the opening of "Black Dog" without difficulty - surprised?!)
    4) Yes (the best band that none of my friends have ever heard of)
    5) The Who (Only once I'd got used to what happens in the closing seconds of "Won't Get Fooled Again", YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!)
  • Bianca Sanchez from Alburquerque, NmI LOVE THIS SONG! Me and me freind sing it every now and then then we can't get it out of heads. But who flippin cares!
  • Michael from Oxford, EnglandI hate this song. It is undoubtedly the worst song in the entire Beatles catalogue, worse even than "Revolution 9" (yup, you heard right!). I apologize to anyone who loves it.
  • Fyodor from Denver, CoI wonder if Lennon wrote the bridge ("sail the ship" etc) as it sounds like him singing it. Interesting bit of seeming naughtiness tucked in the middle of what's ostensibly a kiddie's song (take my friend to BED?). I find this song very reminiscent of The Stones' "Why Don't We Sing This Song All Together".
  • Spencer from Los Angeles, CaThis is one of my favorite songs! I can't find a bass tab for it though...
  • Jonathan from Johnstown, PaI love the scene in YS this song is in! Much better than that stupid "thing" before the credits!
  • Jl from Bretagne, FranceI've just read this song was recorded May 12th '67 ; and the album was released January 13th '69.
  • Jl from Bretagne, FranceThis song is pretty cool, and as an an English teacher in France, I'll get my pupils to learn and sing it - 'tis never too early to learn Beatles songs.
  • Sylvia from London, EnglandInteresting song. "Yellow Submarine" was bizzare! Catchy. P.S. Yeah, what's up with people who think The Beatles are 'too old' or 'too poppy' (A.K.A. everyone I know) and all that? They are completely oblivious to how awesome they were!
  • Howard from St. Louis Park, MnAll Together Now was one of The Beatles' sillier songs.
  • George from Itaberaba, BrazilOh, what a fun silly song. Very cute, Paul.
  • Ami from Basking Ridge, NjI love the beginning of this song. I really love how it's in all different languages at the end of the movie yellow submarine...I LOVE THE BEATLES!
  • Paula-mersey from TÃ?mperley, ArgentinaI´ve read that All together now was written in 1958 by Paul. And then was kept until 1968 when they decided to recording it. I think Octopus´s garden has no relation of any kind with this song.Mersey-rocks,Argentina.
  • Ryan from Albion, NyBack in my middle school, they stack the chairs on Friday after band rehearsal..my teacher plays the muppet version as everybody is putting chairs away, and let me tell you,it gets extremely repetitive hearing kermit the frog and miss piggy sing this song week after week..it is a pretty cool song though
  • Kristen from Aurora, IlRingo was inspired to write octopus's garden when he was on a boat trip and the captain told him about the octopi and how they built gardens under the sea full of shinny objects.
  • Loretta from Liverpool, Englandit couldn't be about the octopus's garden because this movie was from 1967 and that song was written in 1968 (recorded in 1969). it's possible that this had some part in inspiring octopus's garden.
  • Boris from Gent, BelgiumOne of my favourite beatles songs because of it simplicity
  • Patrick from Conyers, Gain the DVD/video release of "Yellow Submarine" in 1999, the scene of the movie featuring this song was put back in. In this scene, the moptops begin their journey, and encounter lots of strange-looking fish. Perhaps a tribute to Octopus's Garden?
