  • Devin from Chatsworth, Ca"A “monster hit” in some parts of the world but not necessarily for the reasons you would think. A cash-in single to coincide with the release of the Steve McQueen 1958 classic The Blob. More goofy than scary, the song manages to additionally qualify as creep-worthy by the fact that it was the first big hit to make extensive use of a fart-like sound." • Randy from Bordentown, NjI have a 45 rpm r ecording of Bernie Knee (spelled differently than above) that did a recording for Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills NJ. Is this the same bernie ?
  • Po from Gothenburg, TanzaniaIt,s not co-written by HalDavid, instead by his brother Mack David, and Burt Bacharach

  • Aaron from Austin, TxThe song appears over the opening credits of most prints, although it seems to have been inserted at a later time. I don't believe it was the original opening song for the movie, it was a novelty song inspired by it.

  • Dave from Philadelphia, Pa"The Blob" written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David and performed by the Five Blobs (Bernie Nee) definitely *was* used in "The Blob"--it was the theme song heard in the beginning of the movie, over the credits. The film version is a different arrangement (shorter) than the 45 record version and its appearances on the Bacharach 3CD "Look of Love" and the Amazon link on this page for the Sony "Crazy Rock" CD among others. There is more echo and compression in the movie, but it is the same recording, and is one of my favorites. Hey, what else would you expect from an annual "Blobfest" attendee??
  • Loretta from Liverpool, Englandwhenever i double track my vocals more than once, i sound like unholy hell!!!
