  • To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you
Well I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth

In the shadowplay acting out your own death, knowing no more

As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor
And with cold steel, odor on their bodies made a move to connect
I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left

I did everything, everything I wanted to
I let them use you for their own ends
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you Writer/s: Bernard Sumner, Ian Kevin Curtis, Peter Hook, Stephen Paul David Morris

  • Paris from Cardiff, United Kingdomwell done on The Killers for not corrupting this song. i love Joy Division aswell, and when i heard they were covering it i was so excited- i had all right to! it turned out great!
  • Kylie from Ventura, CaSorry, but I think The Killers version is better. Joy Division gets big props for writing it though.
  • Ruby from San Francisco, CaLOVE Joy Division!!! Ian Curtis is one lyrical genius...but umm the name of the album "Shadowplay" appears on is called "UNKNOWN Pleasures" :-)
And I LOVE The Killers' version, I love both versions the same and the Killers did a good job no corrupting the song, in my opinion at least.
