  • Step right up and don't be shy
Because you will not believe your eyes
She's right here behind the glass
    And you're gonna like her
    'Cause she's got class
You can look inside another world
You get to talk to a pretty girl
    She's everything you dream about
    But don't fall in love

    She's a beauty
She's one in a million girls
    She's a beauty
    Why would I lie?
    Why would I lie?

You can say anything you like
But you can't touch the merchandise
She'll give you every penny's worth
But it will cost you a dollar first
You can step outside your little world
You can talk to a pretty girl
    She's everything you dream about
    But don't fall in love

    She's a beauty
She's one in a million girls
    One in a million girls
    Why would I lie?
    Why would I lie?
    But don't fall in love
'Cause if you do, you'll find out she don't love you
She's one in a million girls
    One in a million girls
    Why would I lie?
    Now, why would I lie?

    (Step outside your world)

(But don't fall in love) she's a beauty
(She's one in a million girls) one in a million girls
(Why would I lie?) now why would I lie?

(But don't fall in love) 'cause if you do, you'll find out she don't love you
(She's one in a million girls) one in a million girls
(Why would I lie?) why would I lie?

    (But don't fall in love)
(She's one in a million girls)

  • Coffey from OregonThe comments mentioned that Patricia Arquette got Alexis Arquette in the video as the boy, before the transformation.

“ That was the first time that I'd ever seen somebody doing like, cocaine. There was this woman who was dressed like a mermaid, doing blow with the makeup artist. And I had no idea. And then one of the dancers had this huge package, and was like hitting on me — meanwhile, I'm 12 years old.”

  • Fred P.Toto strikes again!!!
  • George Pope from Vancouver - CanadaSuch silliness -- to have to be concerned with censorship, even just using the word "naked," then not able to have a topless girl, as would be proper i the music video -- like ANYBODY has never seen bare breasts before -- in those days everybody was breastfed! Stupid weak-minded rules makers! Censorship is dishonesty. So, of course churches and governments engage in it.

We need some facts on The Tubes -- I've not yet had an LP of theirs to read up on them.
  • Tadpole from HereBill Champlin and Bobby Kimball shared the backup vocals on this track... full harmony.
  • Jz from TxBobby Kimball from Toto is the main vocal blend on the chorus
  • Jt from NashvilleWho played the leather woman who restrained the young boy in the carnival ride car?
  • John from Memphis, TnNot Bobby Kimball - Steve Lukather. He also co-wrote "Talk to You Later," their other big hit. Luke is that guy you've never heard of, who has played on all of your favorite songs. Look up some interviews; he's a cool dude and an amazing player.
  • Chelle from VirginiaWho is the woman spinning by her neck? She was also in "Xanadu."
  • Hockeydude from Boston MaThey chorus is almost entirely Bobby Kimball of Toto and the lyrics "Step outside your world" is Bill Champlin of Chicago. Champlin was the ringer for this album.
  • Betty from Dayton, Ohgreat song!
