  • When we met light was shed
Thoughts free flow, you said you've got something
    Deep inside of you
A wind chime voice sounds, sway of your hips round rings true
It goes deep inside of you
    These secret garden beams
Changed my life so it seems
Fall breeze blows outside, I don't break stride
    My thoughts are warm
And they go deep inside of you

Oh, yeah, and I never felt alone
All right, oh, oh, 'til I met you

Friends say I've changed, I don't listen 'cause I live to be
    Deep inside of you
Slide of her dress, shouts in darkness, I'm so alive
    I'm deep inside of you
You said, boy make girl feel good

    But still, deep inside, still

    I've never felt alone
    'Til I met you
I'm all right on my own
    And then I met you
And I'd know what to do if I just knew what's coming

I would change myself if I could
I'd walk with my people if I could find them
And I'd say that I'm sorry to you
    I'm sorry to you
And I don't wanna call you
But then I wanna call you 'cause I don't wanna crush you
But I feel like crushing you
And it's true, I took for granted you were with me
I breathe by your looks and you look right through me (And we were broke and didn't know)
And we were broke and didn't know
And we were broke and didn't know
And we were broke and didn't know

Something's gone, you withdraw and I'm not strong like before
I was deep inside of you
    I can go nowhere
I burn candles and stare at a ghost
    Deep inside of you
And some great need in me
    Starts to bleed
I've lost myself there's nothing left, it's all gone

    Deep inside of you
    Deep inside of you
Deep inside of you Writer/s: Stephan Jenkins

  • Alex Walker from Reno, NvThis song is totally about crystal meth.

'When we first met, thoughts free flow'- the very beginning of a Meth addiction makes your brain kick ass. Connections other people miss. Poetry, songwriting, learning french, math. Your mind is moving so fast it is exhilarating! "My thoughts are warm"- the beginning is a cozy vibe for sure.

But as it always does after some time, it gets out of control "Friends say I've changed, I don't listen cause I live to be...Deep inside of you."
Its starting to make him different and people closest to him are taking notice. But the drug takes precedence.

"Im alright on my own, till I met you:. -Dependency worsens.

"Id change myself if I could, I would walk with my people if I could find them. " He is in deep now, no familiar friends or family. his "people" are missing.

"I don't wanna call you, but then I wanna call you", Cause I don't wanna crush you but I feel like crushing you" - He doesn't want to make the call to get more despite really wanting to because then he will get the drug and crush it up

Something's gone, you withdraw and I'm not strong like before
I was deep inside of you
    I can go nowhere
I burn candles and stare at a ghost
    Deep inside of you
And some great need in me
    Starts to bleed
I've lost myself there's nothing left, it's all gone

-This last verse totally sums up the whole thing. Eventually, the drug just doesn't do it for you.

"you withdraw and I'm not strong like before"

Staring at a ghost refers to the physical changes he went through. After a while, it dramatically changes your appearance and most certainly your identity.
his old self is gone- Its all gone....

A beautifully dark song covered in love references, but sad at its core. Remember if you feel lost in drugs or in anything that you're never all gone. If your alive and breathing then you always have the next moment. Moments, and what we do with them, define us. Our lives are a collection of these moments. Never lose hope and the truth that you can always choose to live the next one better than the last. Thanks for reading!
  • Katie from Minneapolis, Minnesota Through Holy randomness, somehow this song, practically every line, is about a special relationship I had when I was 20. It was only supposed to be for the summer because he was leaving to live across the country end of summer. I told him the night we met that I was deep, loved having my hips touched, we had common interests. I interpreted his dreams and he encouraged me to study dreams further. Stuff happened. Our last night together he told me, “The biggest mistake I made was not realizing how deep you truly are.” I said my biggest mistake was sending him Shakespeare (because I scared him away) He laughed and said, “Oh I wish so much that we met at a different time in life...” I still miss him terribly even though we are both married to other people and haven’t kept in touch. I dream of him often. Nobody has ever gotten to experience the depths of me the way he did.
  • Emily from Ocean Springs, MsGosh this song is depressing! Even though it was written in a sexual sense, if you interpret it emotionally it is tragically beautiful.. which sounds SO emo. But seriously, been there, done that. You can lose yourself in someone and be left hollow in the end.
  • Mercedies from Soldotna, AkI love this song! its so romantic and amazing. I love to listen to it constantly. The words are just so powerful and amazing. This is a deeply moving song! And my 3rd all time favorite!
  • Chelle from Hilo, Cai think this song is soooo romantic... "when we met, light was shed, thoughts free flow, you said you've got something deep inside of you"... i think it's all about getting so caught up in someone you just become obsessive and want to know everything about them and it hurts when you're not around them...
  • Steel-bender from Columbus, OhYou know I used to love this song 'till I was at this concert and Stephan Jenkins said the true meaning of it. Basically he said that everyone thinks it means something but all it really is about is just that being "DEEP INSIDE OF YOU!" It took me awhile to get over this but the beauty of every song is you can interpret in your own way!
  • Jonathan from Fayetteville, NcThis is not a happy song, so don't smile when you sing it.
  • Menard from Manila, Philippines"i would change myself if i could, i walk with my people if i could find them, then i say that im sorry to you...

and i don't want to call you, but then i want to call you, coz i dont want to crush you, but i feel like crushing you...

all the ironies and 'doubts' made her someone special, someone to be taken with sensitivity...
  • Kellie from York Beach, MeTheirs a verse in this song:
    I've never felt alone
    Till I met you
    I'm alright on my own
    And then I met you
And I'd know what to do
If I just knew what's coming
Which basically means he'd never known what it was to be truly alone, until he met this girl that not only changed his life, but how he felt all other emotions.
  • Don from San Antonio, TxThe bridge part of the song is god-like. The rest is pure annoyance. Just another garden variety sesame street punk band loaded with arrogance.
  • Kevin from Mansfield, CtBrilliant song. The words ALWAYS are profound. The song I THINK is about how two people had a sexual relationship and they suffer a harsh break up. The man changes for the relationship. He sacrifices a lot in her life to be with the woman but still has feelings for her. Sad.
