  • Ace Frehley takes a cue from AC/DC on this electrifying track where an alluring woman hits him with a jolt that feels like 10,000 volts. Frehley wrote and produced the song with Steve Brown from the band Trixter.

"When I heard the rhythm guitar part that Steve brought to me, it blew my mind," Frehley said in a Songfacts track by track. "All we did was thicken it up."

"I love the chorus, the way it kicks in," he added.
  • "10,000 Volts" is the first single and title track of Ace Frehley's eighth solo album. He picked it as a single after getting feedback from the ladies he played it for. He posted it, along with a video directed by Alex Kouvatsos, on November 28, 2023, three months before releasing the album.
  • Frehley is best known for his tenure in Kiss, where he was the Spaceman from their inception in 1973 until 1982; then again from 1996-2001. This bombastic rocker wouldn't be out of place in their catalog, which includes another electric song Ace was part of, "God Of Thunder" from their 1976 Destroyer album.
  • When he writes lyrics, Frehley usually starts with the title and works from there. "Sometimes I'll write the whole lyrics of a song in 30-45 minutes, as long as the theme of the song makes sense," he told Songfacts. "But Steve brought the rhythm guitar part over to my house and I started writing the lyrics because I'm a better lyricist than Steve is - he'll be the first to admit that. But working with Steve, magic happens because he inspires me."
  • Ace Frehley gave the live debut of "10,000 Volts" when he played his first show of 2024 on January 25, 2024, at Grand Theatre in Frankfort, Kentucky.
