Songfacts®:

  • This was one of the first songs that frontman Tom DeLonge wrote with new Angels & Airwaves member Ilan Rubin after the multi-instrumentalist joined the band in 2011. The pair completely altered the tune later on, transforming it into a much more electronic number. "The first version of it had more guitar riffs and was more what you'd expect from my melodies," DeLonge told Digital Spy. "Angels & Airwaves hasn't really had the ability to play that angsty and have that much energy in the past," he added. "But with Ilan we're now able to do it."
