  • Amanda Ava Koci is a singer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who performs under the name of Ava Max. The daughter of Albanian immigrants, Max is blessed with with a vibrant voice passed down by her opera singer mother.

After first being introduced on American electronic musician Le Youth's "Clap Your Hands" in 2017, she released her debut single, "My Way," the following year which was moderately successful in East Europe. This catchy pop song is Max's third single.
  • The song is about a dangerous girl who makes guys come back for seconds despite being totally deranged.

Oh, she's sweet but a psycho
    A little bit psycho
    At night she's screamin'
    "I'm-ma-ma-ma out my mind

Max told The Idolator that she identifies with the girl she's singing about because like her, she has many different sides. "It's basically about a girl who's not afraid to show all of her sides and her dualities, and about a guy loving all those sides," the songstress explained. "She's a girl who's misunderstood in the relationship, and she's basically being told she's psycho and she's out of her mind when she's feeling it, but really she's an outspoken girl and she's speaking her mind. And that's how I am in real life."
  • Ava Max co-wrote the song with Madison Love (G-Eazy & Halsey's "Him & I," Camila Cabello's "In the Dark"). It was produced by Canadian songwriter Cirkut, who is known for working with Katy Perry ("Roar") and Miley Cyrus ("Wrecking Ball").
  • The song became Max's breakthrough hit, reaching singles charts worldwide. It climbed to #1 in several countries, including Sweden, Norway, Finland and Estonia.
