  • The Last was the eighth album released by the New York based bachata group Aventura. Bachata is a guitar based music, which originated in the Dominican Republic.
  • This song features the Haitian musician and producer Wyclef Jean and the American rapper Ludacris. Guitarist Lenny told MTV News: "We decided to do a song with Wyclef, 'cause we actually recorded the album in his studio. He said, 'I would like to work with you guys.' And we were like, 'Of course. You're one of the best producers.' Wyclef wanted to mix bachata with hip-hop/Jamaican/reggae music rolled into one."
  • In its debut week The Last achieved sales of 47,000 units in the US, Aventura's best sales week ever. The album arrived at #5 on the Billboard 200 album charts and at #1 on Hot Latin Albums, where it became the act's first chart-topper.
