I Love You

Album: Goodbye Lullaby (2011)

  • Between Lavigne's 2007 album, The Best Damn Thing, and 2011's Goodbye Lullaby, she divorced Sum 41's Deryck Whibley - who continues to be her friend and collaborator - and embarked on a romance with The Hills' hunk Brody Jenner. As the tracks on Goodbye Lullaby were penned over a series of several years, Avril's fans wanted to know if she was singing about her ex-husband or her new boyfriend on this song. However, the singer was vague on the album's track-by-track, where she doesn't divulge when this song was written and omits naming the person she loves most in the whole world.
