"Jesus Got a Tight Grip" is one of four songs debuted on Fully Loaded: God's Country (the rest are previously released songs). It's a country gospel song. Shelton sings about being imperfect and enjoying beers and bars but knowing he'll get into heaven because Jesus has his back.
The song mentions Hank Williams ("but even old Hank Williams finally saw the light"). Williams, who died in 1953 at 29 years old, was one of the most influential country musicians to ever live. He was also a notorious hell-raiser.
Shelton released this single just after releasing "Hell Right." In an Instagram post, Shelton joked about having the two tunes out at once, writing, "No one can ever say I don't cover both ends of the spectrum... Jesus Got A Tight Grip out now!"
Ronnie Dunn wrote "Boot Scootin' Boogie" before he teamed up with Kix Brooks to form Brooks & Dunn. It was originally recorded by the country group Asleep At The Wheel, but Brooks & Dunn did it themselves when it got its own line dance.
