Songfacts®:

  • "Enough Already" is the title track of Brandon Heath's eighth album, a nine-track project that exposes the singer's hidden insecurities. This tender ballad deals with his battles of feeling unworthy of love.
  • Heath attributes that feeling like he never quite measures up to his father not being around much when he was a child. "His absence created wounds that made it difficult for me to trust others." he told New Release Today. "I would ask myself, 'Do they like me for me, in all my faults? Do they find me to be genuinely funny or are they just laughing to appease me?' It takes a lot of energy if you think about that. It kind of robs you of joy. You can't settle into friendships. That would be more of my struggle, wondering 'Am I good enough on my own?'"

As Heath reflected on his weakness, he let it have more space in his life and affect his songwriting. In doing so, the singer rediscovered what he means to God, giving him peace and a sense of belonging. This hard-won realization that he's loved enough already comes to light on this song. "I don't need anything or anyone else to tell me what I'm worth," said Heath. "God has already defined my worth. He already calls me son. He already recognizes me as redeemed. There's nothing in this world that could give me more meaning and purpose than what God already gives me."
  • Brandon Heath wrote "Enough Already" with Ross King and producer Kyle Williams. Songwriter and worship leader Ross King has cuts by the Newsboys, Jason Gray, Jordan Feliz, and We Are Messengers on his resumé. Williams also produced Heath's chart-topping single "See Me Through It."
