Songfacts®:

  • 2023 was a good year for Central Cee. Halfway through the year, the West London rapper teamed up with fellow British MC Dave for the EP Split Decision, which included the UK chart-topping single "Sprinter." Cench also reached the Hot 100 with collaborations with Drake ("On The Radar Freestyle"), and The Kid LAROI and Jung Kook ("Too Much"). Not only did he slay plenty of beats in 2023, but Central Cee also birthed his streetwear brand, Syna.

He released this victory lap on December 21, 2023, which explores the rapper's journey from street hustler to hitmaker and entrepreneur.
  • "Entrapreneur" has a strong theme of fashion and streetwear culture. The intro features U global fashion brand entrepreneur Mikey Trapstar explaining how showbiz isn't much different from the streets. Cench has been a vocal and visible supporter of the Trapstar brand for years; the dude even got it inked on his chest.
  • During the first verse, Central Cee brushes off haters questioning the price of his Syna streetwear - if you can't handle the tag, he says, shop elsewhere.

On the chorus, the rapper tips his hat to the "Toyota Yaris to Urus" journey, measuring his rise through cars. Central Cee rapped a similar lyric in "Sprinter."

The second verse nods to his trajectory from drug dealer to best-selling rapper - Nokia ringtones and answering phones replaced by mics. Cench compares the rollercoaster of highs and lows he's been through to bipolar disorder.
  • We put the trap in the entrepreneur

No typos here - the title's a deliberate play on words by Central Cee. As an "entrapreneur," he swaps the E for an A, hinting at his roots in the drug game. In the streets, a "trap" or "trap house" is where dealers do their business - selling and cooking up their illicit goods.
  • Chris Rich and Caleb Bryant crafted a production fueled by powerful bass and an uplifting synth riff.

Welsh drill producer Chrus Rich's previous Central Cee collaborations include "Molly," "Mrs" and "End Of The Beginning."

Caleb Bryant is a producer and composer from St. Louis, Missouri. His resumé includes production work for Giveon and Tory Lanez.
  • Filmed in London, the music video captures Central Cee and his crew chilling at a gas station and dancing along to the track in a clothing warehouse.
