• Central Cee dropped a sneak peek of the track on his Instagram story, March 18, 2023. He shared a screenshot of a conversation with Dave where the "Starlight" rapper sent him an audio file. The caption tagged Dave and read, "Oh no."
  
  "Sprinter" officially dropped on June 1, 2023, released by London-based labels Neighbourhood Records and Live Yours.
• The music video takes us through the streets of London and the scenic beauty of the south of France. Keep an eye out for a cameo from the Nigerian-born artist Slawn. It's a visual feast, with lavish boats, fancy rides, seaside mansions, and stunning ladies everywhere you look.
• "Sprinter" is the lead single from Central Cee and Dave's joint EP Split Decision. Its release marks both rappers' 25th birthdays on June 4 and June 5, respectively. Dave marked his 24th Birthday with a freestyle of that title but dropped the song three weeks later on June 24, 2022.
• The song debuted at #1 on the UK Singles chart, becoming Dave's third chart-topper following 2018's "Funky Friday" with Fredo and 2022's "Starlight." It was Central Cee's first visit to the summit, having previously peaked at #2 with "Doja" in 2022.
• The first seven days of "Sprinter" saw the track accumulate 13.4 million streams, making it the biggest week of streams for a rap single in the UK ever. This surpassed Stormzy's "Vossi Bop," which racked up 12.7 million in its opening week in May 2019.
• When "Sprinter" reached #5 on the Canadian Hot 100 dated June 17, it became the highest charting British hip-hop single of all-time in Canada, surpassing M.I.A.'s 2008 song "Paper Planes," which reached #7.
