  • This is the title track from the third studio album by American R&B and soul singer–songwriter Chrisette Michele. The song features New York rapper Talib Kweli and Black Thought, who is the lead MC of the Philadelphia-based hip hop group The Roots.
  • Michele explained in an interview with Mesfin Fekadu of The Associated Press why she drops a rap verse on this track. "When you sing, things are pretty (and) I can't express the things that I'm expressing in this song 'Let Freedom Reign' by singing it," she said.
