Songfacts®:

  • This love song finds Chris Martin addressing a girl he's fallen for hook, line and sinker:

So I never say die, aim never untrue
I'm never so high as when I'm with you
And there isn't a fire that I wouldn't walk through
My army of one is gonna fight for you

It has been speculated that this was inspired by Chris Martin's romance with Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence.
  • For the first time Coldplay worked Atlanta-based mixing engineer Phil Tan, while recording A Head Full Of Dreams. Tan has worked with many pop acts including Rihanna ("We Found Love") and Katy Perry ("Firework "). He mixed both this track and "Adventure of a Lifetime."
