Songfacts®:

  • This song was written by Lewis' husband Brian Ray. He told CCM Magazine presents 100 Greatest Songs In Christian Music that it was written in Costa Rica, where his wife was on tour. He recalled: "I remember being in the lobby lounge and there was a piano. I started to play a melody I had been humming in my head for a few days. Crystal had just finished doing some Harvest Crusades and I wanted her to have a song that was very upfront about what it means to be a Christian. I wrote the words over the next few days and with Crystal's help, made it into a singable tune."
  • This was the most played song on Christian Radio in 1996.
