Songfacts®:

  • This Rock ballad was one of five UK Top 20 hits for the Christian rock band, Delirious? The band's highest charting song was in 2010 when their final single release "History Maker" entered the UK Singles chart at #4.
  • Lyrically, the song offers comfort to the struggling by documenting the redemptive journey of a girl facing difficulties. It caused some controversy in the US Christian music scene due to the line, "she's as pretty as hell" in addition to references of drinking wine. The band had left the song off promotional copies of Mezzamorphis, and their record company had considered leaving the song off the album.
  • The song was penned by Delirious?'s usual songwriting partnership of vocalist Martin Smith and guitarist Stu G. Martin Smith explained to us how they pair wrote the songs for the band: "Generally, we would have some time on our own and then we would come together," he said. "Stu and I would take the ideas and help each other through that process, and then we would take it to the band at the recording stage."
  • The song featured in an episode of the Fox network comedy-drama Get Real, which starred Eric Christian Olsen and Anne Hathaway in very early roles.
  • British actress Dominica Warburton featured in the accompanying music video as well as on the front cover of the single. She is best known for her voice over work in commercials for the likes of Microsoft and Aquafresh, and promos for the BBC & History Channel.
