Songfacts®:

  • "Energy" is a three-minute banger where Digga D talks about his come-up. He expresses his feelings about the people around him and how so he's cutting out all the haters and negative energy from his life. The Ladbroke Grove MC isn't taking crap from anyone and is standing up to his detractors. He's even trying to grow up and be a better person, even though he's set in his ways.
  • Did you catch that diss in the chorus aimed at Central Cee?

    Can't rap about beef
    Or the streets
So they rap about – Nashville

Digga D and Central Cee are rivals because they both rep different turf in West London. Digga's from Ladbroke Grove while Cench is from Shepherd's Bush.

Here, Digga's throwing some shade at Central Cee because he mentioned the Ladbroke Grove rapper's ex, social media influencer Tennessee Thresher, in his February 2022 track, "End Of The Beginning."

I wanna hit Tennessee, and I don't mean Nashville

Digga's not letting that slide, so he takes a direct shot at Cee.
  • The producers X10 and Hargo's beat keeps that drill sound alive while putting a fresh spin on it. X10 also produced Digga's Noughty by Nature (Extended Edition) track "2K17." Hargo's other credits include Stickz & M24's "We Don't Dance" and (ironically) Central Cee's "Loading."
  • Digga dropped "Energy" on March 9, 2023, along with a music video that shows him chilling on vacation in Paris and Barcelona. There's also an insight into the viral social media-led fan meet-up that D put together in Central London in February 2023.
