Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Atlanta based hip-hop artist DJ Drama's fourth album, Quality Street Music, is a triumphant A-list posse cut featuring Future on the hook, while Jeezy, Ludacris and T.I. all contribute verses. Drama explained the inspiration for the Kane-Beatz produced song to The Boombox. "It's pretty simple," he explained. "It's just a feel-good, movement record. Something everybody can feel. It's such a universal slogan. I wanted to do something for Atlanta and put some of the biggest dogs - the veterans who are still of the hottest guys - on one record."
  • The concept for the album is one that Drama says he came up with while hosting Young Jeezy's Trap or Die mixtape back in 2005. "This to me is the definition of Quality Street Music," he told The Boombox. "With the album, we have some of the hottest n----s in the game, street legends as well as quality hip-hop music. Put it together, it's Quality Street Music."
  • The Benny Boom directed music video was filmed on April 10, 2012 in Atlanta. The Hip-Hop director told The Boombox that upon hearing the song, he immediately thought of the promo for an all-star remix of a Craig Mack 1990s hit tune. "We wanted to make it a simpler idea," Boom revealed. "I wanted to do something like the 'Flava in Ya Ear [Remix]' type style but the 2012 version of it. Just straight performance, because you got artists on here that've been around - real Gs. So there wasn't a need to tell a whole story or nothing like that. We wanted to go right at 'em and have these guys right in the middle and have Drama kinda in the center of it all."
  • Drama told MTV News that he was very conscious of gathering four of Atlanta's finest for this cut. "It's the first time that Tip, Jeezy and Luda have all been on one record together," he said. "Plus, having Future on there, who's got the streets on fire — 2 Chainz and Future are really holding the A down and really are a new generation. Of course, we all know Tip has been here for a long time doing his thing, and even the significance of what Jeezy, T.I. and Luda mean to the city and to my career, it's a special moment for them, it's a special record."
