Songfacts®:

  • Dominic Fike is a singer-songwriter from Naples, Florida. He came to the attention of record labels after independently dropping tracks on Soundcloud. Fike was on house arrest at the time, after being charged with battery of a police officer.

After a bidding war, Fike signed with Columbia for a reported $4 million. This reggae-lite tune was released as his debut single with the label on October 19, 2018.
  • "3 Nights" follows the trajectory of a relationship. It goes from Fike catching some feelings and receiving some naked pictures, then suddenly she doesn't return his calls. The chorus finds the singer inviting the girl to spend three nights in a Fort Myers motel with him.
  • The song first blew up in Australia in early 2019 when it peaked at #3 on the country's singles chart. It gathered momentum elsewhere after the boyband Brockhampton released a video on their Youtube channel titled "This is Dominic Fike" on April 4, 2019.
