Album: New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh (2010)

  • Badu started writing her New Amerykah series in the mid 2000s and recorded this track, which was co-produced by her late friend J Dilla, on September 19, 2007. She explained in a pre-release listening session that she remembers the date as it's the birthday of her long-time boyfriend and the father of her third child, Mars Merkaba, Jay Electronica.
  • The song contains a portion of the early '70s funk number "Take Me" by Fabulous Souls.
