  • According to Escape the Fate drummer Robert Ortiz, the title track of their fourth studio album, "started out as a song meant to be a middle finger to haters. However, we realized that it was important for us to make a truly powerful statement that was bigger than us."
  • The video was directed by Frankie Nasso (Asking Alexandria, Mudvayne) and is an intense journey through the horrible cycle caused by bullying and domestic violence. Ortiz said: "It wasn't easy for us to make a video with real meaning behind it. But, we did our best to expose an ugly reality in the best way Escape The Fate knew how."
  • Ortiz explained to Noisecreep why the band decided to name their fourth studio album after this song. "'Ungrateful' is just we've embodied everything that was wrong with us," he said. "It was supposed to embody everything that we've done wrong, opportunities that just ended up being a waste of talent. So we said, 'F— that we're going to get our s— together.' We're grateful now to get our music out."
  • It was lead guitarist Monte Money who came up with the album title. A few months after its release, Monte and his brother refused to go on the Wrong Side Of Heaven tour with Five Finger Death Punch, a situation that vocalist Craig Mabbitt thought was ironic. He told Noisecreep: "Our lead guitarist named the album because he had been ungrateful in the past like cancelling tours, cancelling shows, cancelling everything so he named it 'Ungrateful.' Apparently he still is that way and he's not with us now because he didn't want to do this tour."
