Songfacts®:

  • Sean Paul is featured on this track. Eve said on aceshowbiz.com: "That's my favorite song on the album. It's definitely upbeat like 'Tambourine.' It's reggae, the beat is Spanish, it's a nice collaboration of sound. Another summer joint. It's a club song. Working with Sean, I've known him for years, but for some reason we never got to do a song together. It looked like we weren't going to get to do this song either 'cause he's so busy, but we talk on the phone and email."
  • After releasing her third album in 2002, Eve took a break from music to focus on acting - she starring in her own sitcom, Eve, from 2003-2006. "Give It To You" was planned for her fourth album, Here I Am, scheduled for release in 2007, but she wasn't able to finish it so the song was issued as a standalone single. Here I Am was mothballed, and Eve's next album, Lip Lock, didn't appear until 2013.
  • This song reunites Eve with producer Swizz Beatz, who worked on her 1999 debut album, which went to #1 in America.
